In a bid to jazz up its IPTV service offerings, UK’s BT Vision has penned a deal with Twentieth Century Fox that will allow BT’s IPTV customers video on demand access to a large number of its classics and new releases.
The deal would come in effect from 15 December, and will include several newly released movies, like The Happening by M. Night Shyamalan, Rolling Stone’s Shine a Light, and Dr Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who.
The offering further includes an extensive catalogue from Twentieth Century Fox, such as Alien Resurrection, Robot, Ice Age, Die Hard, and The Beach; in addition all videos will be priced on the basis of cost-per-viewing, instead of any subscription, with the viewing charges expected to be between £1.99 and £3.45 per showing.
BT notified that the agreement would allow its viewers to access around 600 movies, with the number is expected to increase over time.
BT Vision customers can already access content from some of the renowned players, including Disney, Warner Bros., Universal, and Paramount, and new agreement with Fox would surely bolster its offerings significantly.
Quoting the importance of the deal, Marc Watson, BT Retail’s director of content and business development, said in a statement, “The addition of Fox movie content to BT Vision is a substantial, much valued addition to the service”.
